Garlic Butter Beef & Broccoli is a quick and flavourful one-pan meal made with tender strips of beef, fresh broccoli, garlic, and butter. Ready in about 15 minutes, it’s an easy dinner for busy days and simple enough for a new cook to prepare with confidence.

Ingredients
- 450 g beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons butter, divided
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 cups broccoli florets
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon water
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon salt, or to taste
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
Directions
- Prepare the beef. Pat the beef dry and slice it thinly against the grain. Season lightly with salt and black pepper.
- Cook the beef. Heat the olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the beef and cook for 2–3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned. Transfer to a plate.
- Cook the broccoli. Add the broccoli and water to the same pan. Cook for 3–4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the broccoli is bright green and just tender.
- Add the garlic. Add the remaining tablespoon of butter and minced garlic. Stir for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Return the beef. Add the cooked beef back to the pan and pour in the soy sauce and sesame oil, if using.
- Combine. Toss everything together and cook for another 1–2 minutes until the beef is hot and coated in the garlic butter sauce.
- Serve. Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed. Serve immediately.
Serving & Storage
Serve the garlic butter beef and broccoli warm on its own, or with steamed rice, noodles, or cauliflower rice.Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3–4 days. Allow the food to cool before refrigerating.
Reheating
Pan: Reheat in a pan over medium-low heat for 3–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until hot throughout. Microwave: Place in a microwave-safe dish and heat in short intervals until hot, stirring between intervals.
Tip: Add a small splash of water or broth if the beef and broccoli seem dry while reheating.
