Ingredients

  • 1 can tuna (in water or oil), drained
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon mustard (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped onion or spring onion
  • 1 tablespoon chopped celery (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 4 slices of bread
  • 4 slices of cheddar or mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Directions

  1. In a bowl, mix tuna, mayonnaise, mustard, onion, celery, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  2. Lay out the 4 slices of bread.
  3. Spread the tuna mixture evenly onto 2 slices of bread.
  4. Place 2 slices of cheese on top of each tuna-filled slice.
  5. Cover with the remaining bread slices to form sandwiches.
  6. Heat butter in a pan over medium heat.
  7. Place the sandwiches in the pan and cook 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  8. Slice and serve warm.
